Clarity Of Purpose…And The Sweet spot

Hi all,

Today’s blog instalment is going to be a little different from others. It is going to be all about you taking some time out to be interactive with yourself and taking steps to help give yourself clarity doing whatever you want to do.

This is going to be more of a worksheet than a blog and is designed to help you achieve total clarity about why you do what you do and who stands to benefit the most from your skills and passion.

It is natural to have some resistance doing exercise like this but please work through any resistance. Play fair with yourself, your life and goals. You will reap the rewards that come with it!

Ready? Let’s do this!

1. WHY

Ok the first thing I’m going to get you to do is Brainstorm as many ideas as you can about why you do what you do. Think about what motivates you to get out of bed every morning?  It could be serving your Community… Kudos? Awards? Helping others?

List as many ideas as you can, apart from money. Do not limit yourself by the number of lines below. Get another piece of paper if need be to exhaust everything that comes to mind.

2. SKILLS

Ok.  Here I want you to list everything you are skilful at regardless of whether or not you enjoy it or if you think it is valuable to your business in anyway. Just write down as many things as you can that you are good at as they come into your head. You don’t need to be the best in the world. The idea here is to fill the paper with all your skills.

3. PASSION

Ok! Well done on completing the Why and Skills section.

Now it’s time to write down everything you enjoy about your business. Answer this

question as honestly as you can. Play fair and be honest with yourself.  Do not take this time to write what you do not like. This section is about finding what you are passion about and love to do, whether you are making money doing it or not) still write it down. Use and fill this page with everything you love doing in your business.

4. THE SWEET SPOT

This is where you Identify any crossover between your skills and your passion to find your sweet spot. Ideally, you should have between five and ten things written down here that make up your sweet spot.

Doing things this way will give you the clarity of purpose you need to find your true strengths and skills and hopefully make things more clear as to what you should be focussing on when building yourself and your business.

Hope this is helpful!
